Case Study: Professional Development in Tandem with Technical Training
It is not unusual for graduates entering the workplace to have little to no business acumen.
One global investment bank asked us to design a professional development curriculum that could be fully integrated into the technical skills program. Their aim was to get new hires up to speed as quickly as possible to help them easily transition into the business.
Our Solution
We designed a program that covered the following professional development topics:
- Making an Impact
- Career Management and Managing Teams
- Presentation Skills
- And more
The syllabus was delivered over a few months and included individual participant feedback with coaching. Rather than using generic case examples, participants worked on client-oriented transaction presentations. This helped them to put team management skills into practice. Presentations were rehearsed, critiqued, and finally presented to senior colleagues and external consultants.
The Result
Practical exercises incorporating desk specific content made all sessions immediately applicable to the participant’s career path. In addition, teams were able to learn from each other through group recordings. The presentations also helped our clients identify further development needs.
